Chriss Clark is a photographic artist who seeks to expand the scope of the African Diaspora through layered depictions of personal and collective narratives. Interweaving autobiography with history, her images look to bring the experience of the contemporary African American into focus through appropriation, portraiture, and documentation. Unleashing a raw exploration of afrofuturism, selfhood, and gender.
A Detroit native currently residing in Atlanta, Clark’s interest in African American narratives was sparked during her time at Spelman College where she graduated from with a Bachelors of Art in Philosophy. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Fine Art in Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design.
